Uploading school pupil data
The site shares information on how client data is collected and processed. An allocated member of staff in your school will have responsibility for this process.
During the first half of a new academic year the Management Information Systems (MIS) Team at Careers Wales send an email request to schools and /or Local Authorities asking them to provide data for pupils in all year groups in secondary education. Some Local Authorities have agreed to provide data every term.
We ask for the data in a specific format and request the data be uploaded via the Careers Wales Online secure upload facility. (This link will take you to an external site)
Uploading to Careers Wales
Before you can upload pupil data, you must be logged into the Administration site first.
When the pupil data spreadsheet has been completed you will need to upload it to Careers Wales via the Secure Upload Facility. (This link will take you to an external site)
View details and instructions of how to upload to the Secure Upload Facility:
When the data is received, the Management Information Systems (MIS) team at Careers Wales will process, match and upload it to IO (Careers Wales client database). Existing records are updated and new records are created.
For schools running SIMS systems
Careers Wales Template version 1
The SIMS report is commissioned by Careers Wales from the SIMS support company, Cynnal. The report must be downloaded and saved to an appropriate local or shared drive (C:/) by school staff. The report can then be imported into the SIMS system and run following the Careers Wales Template instructions below.
These will instruct schools how to import and run the Careers Wales Template report. Please note at the Year group section please 'Select All'.
For schools not running SIMS system
