"Choose Your Future Creative Pathways Event"

Careers Wales are pleased to invite you and your pupils to the Choose Your Future Creative Pathways Digital event.

Event dates

English event: Tuesday 24 November, 8.50am – 3pm

Welsh event: Thursday 26 November, 8.50am – 3pm

This free careers event is aimed at pupils in Years 10-13 and will focus on the creative sector. Pupils will have the opportunity to hear from some of Wales’ biggest creative organisations and can join one, a few or all sessions.

Timetable for the day

8.50am - Tour of Bad Wolf film studios

Take a virtual tour of Bad Wolf film studios with careers information and a live Question and Answer broadcast by Screen Alliance Wales. Take a tour around the film studios where His Dark Materials and A Discovery of Witches are filmed.

Learn about the variety of jobs available at the venue and join a live Question and Answer for an insight into the industry.

9.50am - Interview with a Welsh talent

Join Into Film Cymru to hear about careers in film. Non and Hywel from Into Film Cymru will present information about the different job opportunities available in the film industry, find out about specific job roles and share exciting interviews with Welsh talent from the sector. Bring a paper, pen and a lot of enthusiasm.

11.20am - (24/10 English) Costume/Set design workshop

Take part in a live costume/set design workshop with discussions about careers in the sector and a live Question and Answer broadcast by The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

11.20am - (26/10 Welsh) Stage Management

Interested in stage management? An opportunity to learn about stage management in a live workshop. Hear about careers and ask the experts your questions from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

1pm - Diversity and inclusion in the film and TV industry

Diversity and inclusion in the film and TV industry: A live discussion and Question and Answer with support from Into Film. The film industry needs to be more inclusive. People from diverse backgrounds are under-represented across the sector.

Join this live session to learn about how the panel members started working in film TV.

Learn about their current roles and responsibilities and get advice on working in the sector by joining a live Question and Answer.

We hope this will be the first in a series of sessions on diversity and inclusion in film and TV. This session will focus mainly on the success stories of people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.

2pm - Freelancers Discussion on being Self Employed in the Creative Sector

Join a live discussion and Question and Answer about being self-employed in the creative sector broadcast by The Arts Council of Wales - an opportunity to hear from self-employed people talking about how they got into the creative sector and the chance to ask questions during a live Question and Answer.
