If you prepare before you go for an interview it will help you feel more confident on the day.
If you have been asked to go to an interview, it's important to let the employer know your will turn up. You can phone or email the employer to let them know you are going to turn up to the interview
Here are some ways you could prepare for an interview:

Read the job description to find out what skills the employer is looking for. Then, think about how you can show you have those skills. Look at Skills and what they mean

Find out about the company. This will show the employer that you have tried to learn about them. Most companies will have a section called ‘About us’ or ‘Meet the Team’ on their websites. Their social media accounts will also give you an idea of what they are doing

Think about why you would be good at doing the job. You could practice telling someone why you want the job and why you would be good at it. Look at some example interview questions

Plan for the day. Think about:
- How you will get there
- What you will wear
- What you want to ask them

Phone or email the employer before the interview to tell them if you will need extra help. Employers can make changes to an interview to make sure that it is fair for a person with a disability. Many employers will ask if you need any extra help on an application form. Look at What support is there for me in work? for more information on the support available.
