Career Discovery for year 6

Career Discovery resources have been created with employers across Wales. They introduce learners to different roles, organisations and industries.

About the resources

There are 18 employer videos and related activities. The videos show people talking about the job they do. Each video is 5 to 10 minutes long. 

There are resources for each of the 6 Areas.

Career Discovery aims to:

  • Support learners to begin to understand the links between learning and the workplace
  • Broaden the horizons of young learners
  • Introduce pupils to employers who can inspire, inform, and motivate them
  • Challenge career limiting beliefs around gender, race and background
  • Raise career aspirations
  • Address topics that include the Welsh language, rurality, and equality
