The Careers Wales Mark was an award designed by Careers Wales to recognise an educational establishment’s commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Since 2010, Careers Wales have worked with many schools and colleges to support them to achieve accreditation of the Careers Wales Mark, our careers quality improvement award.
By achieving accreditation of this award, schools and colleges have demonstrated their commitment to providing their learners with high quality, meaningful careers education.
Delivery of the Careers Wales Mark ended in December 2021, however, the award is recognised for a duration of 3 years from accreditation. Schools who achieved the Careers Wales Mark in 2021 will be accredited with the award until 2024.
In January 2022, the Welsh Government released statutory guidance which sees careers and work-related experiences (CWRE) become a cross-cutting theme in the Curriculum for Wales for 3 to 16-year-olds. With this comes an opportunity to develop a new award that will reflect and complement these changes and will enable schools and settings to successfully realise CWRE in their curriculum.
Work is now under way to develop a new award in readiness for the next academic year. If you would like more information or would be interested in supporting the development of this award, please contact us.
