Castell Howell's story

Pupils taking part in Tasty Careers challenge

Over the last 10 years Castell Howell Foods have given learners lots of opportunities to find out about the world of work.

Castell Howell Foods are one of the UK's leading food service providers. They have supported Careers Wales and schools for a decade.

They have supported activities that include:

  • Mock interviews
  • Apprenticeship presentations
  • Curriculum enrichment
  • Site visits for students at their head office and warehouse

Tasty Careers Challenge

Castell Howell Foods helped start the Tasty Careers Challenge in West Wales.

This challenge involved 14 schools and more than 900 students. It tasked learners to make healthy meals using local products.

The goal of the competition was to highlight opportunities in the food industry. It also helped learners develop important skills.

Castell Howell Foods teamed up with local businesses. Together, they provided prizes and sponsored the final of the Tasty Careers Challenge.

After the competition, the company worked together with Maes Y Gwendraeth school. They developed the winning product and added it to their product offer.
