Morganstone's story

Sarah Bishop from Morganstone holding the Valued Partner Award trophy

Morganstone has a strong connection with Careers Wales. As a partner of seven years, they have provided excellent experiences for pupils.

Morganstone is a construction company based in Llanelli. They are building an indoor sports barn at Cefn Hengoed Comprehensive School in Swansea. Through this contract, they have provided valuable experiences for pupils to learn about the world of work.

School Valued Partners

Morganstone worked closely with Cefn Hengoed school. They created a programme of career and work-related experiences for students in years 7-11. They designed the programme based on feedback from the students about how and what they would like to learn.

One of the sessions delivered at the school was “Girls in Construction.”  The session aimed to challenge stereotypes and understand girls' views on construction jobs.

Morganstone are a School Valued Partner to several schools in the West Wales.

Award winners

Careers Wales presented Morganstone with a Valued Partner Award in November 2023.

Sarah Bishop, Operations Co-ordinator at Morganstone, said: “We are delighted to have won the Best Ongoing Relationship with a School today. We will continue to work with Careers Wales and engage with pupils in schools who are interested in construction.

“A personal highlight for me has been our “Girls in Construction” event at schools which has shown female pupils what career paths are available to them, and that construction is not just a male environment.”

Andrea John, Careers Wales business engagement adviser, works closely with Morganstone. She said: “Morganstone’s positive impact on Cefn Hengoed school is undeniable. They are very deserving of the 'Best Ongoing Relationship with a School' award.

“They always go the extra mile. They are driven by their passion for promoting the construction sector, supporting the community, and nurturing future talent.”
